We are seeking applications from suitably experienced and high-performing Bid Managers for our infrastructure business.


As a Bid Manager, you will be reporting to the Estimating Manager. The purpose of the role is to support upcoming bid work in Victoria and have a focus on leading and developing a comprehensive bid tenders/proposals/expressions of interest process

  • Accountable for the compilation of pre-qualifications and registrations of interest to current and new clients, including follow up;
  • Accountable for the co-ordination of EOI’s, major tender submissions, as required;
  • Prepare engineering documentation and presentation material for pre-qualifications, bids, and projects;
  • Liaise with clients of projects under your control;
  • Review and interpret the job brief, specifications, drawings to comprehend the complexities, client hot spots, resourcing requirements etc, ability to fully understand tender documentation and communicate to the wider estimating/project teams
  • Identify and confirm the submission requirements of relevant tender documentation.
  • Engaging with internal resources to ensure that appropriate reviews are undertaken of tender documentation
  • Lead the proposed approach of the job with project/estimating teams and build a suitable program which supports the strategy
  • Prepare detailed Programs, Method Statements and Procedures for projects;
  • Involvement / Managing beginning to end of the bid process from the EOI (where applicable) phase, through to tendering, post-tender negotiations, award, and handover to project delivery team.


  • Relevant Tertiary qualification – Engineering degree, Construction Management Degree
  • A minimum of ten years of engineering experience in the civil construction industry with a demonstrated success in delivering to financial targets, timeframes, planning and logistics management;
  • Competent in negotiation and client relationship building accompanied with a sound understanding of contract management and cost containment;
  • Experience in Construction Methodology and delivery preferred
  • Experience in Estimating or Cost Control/Reporting Functions in project delivery
  • Broad understanding of design, project planning, construction and commissioning
  • Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills, clear communication verbal and written;
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering successful and profitable tenders
  • Ability to follow a defined process, but understand the need to still be creative and be able to view all situations from a client’s perspective
