Retarding basin for new master-planned community

At Accolade Estate, a new master-planned community located 35 kilometers from the CBD, BildGroup delivered 16 stages, an exemplary retarding basin, civil and landscaping works across 7 years for our client. This ambitious project involved substantial excavation and removal of approximately 70,000 cubic metres of clay and rock. The construction also included over 400 metres of drainage works, such as box culverts, and features like rock beaching and footpaths.

Our collaborative approach was key to the project’s success. Working closely with Melbourne Water and neighbouring developments, the team ensured minimal impact on the surrounding environment. This involved managing significant volumes of over-wet material and deploying GPS machinery for precision in the bulk earthworks and drainage installations. Despite facing rainfall during construction, the project stayed on schedule and was completed ahead of the target program, ultimately saving time and money for the client.

The completed retarding basin not only serves its functional purpose but also enhances the community’s infrastructure. The meticulous work on the footpaths and rock beaching contributes to the aesthetic appeal and usability of the area. The project’s timely completion and minimal disruption to surrounding developments highlight our dedication to excellence and community well-being.
