New baseball field for local players

BildGroup’s sports fields and surfaces team had the pleasure of working with our client to design and construct a fantastic new baseball field for the community. This project was all about creating a high-quality space where local baseball players could enjoy their sport to the fullest.

Working closely with our client and stakeholders, we developed a detailed design concept for the refurbishment of the existing baseball diamond. Careful consideration was given to the integration between the new synthetic surface and the natural turf outfield.

Excavation works were followed by the installation of new drainage, a protective geomembrane over the 2,520 square metre subgrade, and finally, pavement construction. For the diamond itself, we installed FieldTurf’s Double Play Classic synthetic grass with a sand and SBR rubber infill, ensuring a durable and top-quality playing surface.

Completing the project in June 2020, on time and within budget, the new baseball diamond has been warmly welcomed by the local baseball community and is providing a greatly improved experience for players and other users. It truly has been a rewarding project for all!
