Cricket net upgrade enhances facilities for practice and play

BildGroup’s sports fields and surfaces team partnered with our client to completely upgrade the existing cricket facilities at Bonbeach Recreation Reserve.

Removing the old synthetic surface and fences to make way for the new upgrades, we chose FieldTurf’s Supershield 9.5mm synthetic cricket product for the playing surface, guaranteeing a durable and high-performance surface that meets the demands of cricket enthusiasts.

One of the key improvements was extending the concrete pavement to include a fourth lane for public use, providing even more space for players to hone their skills. We also installed a new chain mesh perimeter fence with an enclosed soft net roof, ensuring a safe and secure environment for players. Inside, retractable internal netting with storage boxes was added for convenience.

With a budget of $307,000, we completed the project in August 2023. Throughout the process, we worked closely with the council to ensure that the project met their specifications and expectations. Our team also made sure to finish the project on time, allowing players to enjoy the upgraded facilities without delay.
