The Darlington Upgrade Project, a significant stage in Adelaide’s North-South Corridor development, represents a $750 million+ investment to enhance approximately 3.3 kilometres of the Main South Road. This project involved substantial asphalt profiling, with our dedicated South Australian team tasked with milling over 400,000 square metres of asphalt throughout its duration. The precision and dedication required for this task cannot be overstated, as it was essential for the successful re-sheeting of the asphalt along this stretch of road.

In collaboration with the Darlington Upgrade Project team, our profiling crew quickly earned a reputation for their reliability and unwavering commitment. Their attitude was marked by a ‘can do’, ‘will do’, and ‘done’ approach, ensuring that the subsequent stages of the project, particularly the asphalt paving, proceeded smoothly. This cohesive teamwork was crucial in achieving the project goals, allowing other contractors to meet their targets and ensuring that the people of Adelaide benefit from significantly reduced commuting times on newly upgraded, ultra-smooth tarmac.

Throughout the project, our profilers used and wore out approximately 11,350 teeth, a testament to the scale and intensity of the work involved. Many of these tasks were performed during night hours to minimise disruption, reflecting our commitment to community convenience. Additionally, the material profiled during this extensive process was not wasted; it was recycled and reused, underscoring our dedication to sustainable practices.
