Park upgrade creates vibrant community hub

BildGroup’s landscape team had the privilege of transforming Elder St South Park into a vibrant community hub in Clarinda. Tasked with upgrading this former tip site, we embraced the unique challenges and showcased our technical expertise to deliver exceptional results.

One of the primary challenges was working on a reclaimed tip site, requiring innovative solutions such as shallow footings and low-impact equipment to protect the underlying structural membrane. Our creativity and determination were key in overcoming these obstacles.

The revamped Elder St South Park now stands as a beacon of community pride. It serves as an inviting entry point to a broader open reserve, offering a variety of amenities and activities for all. From hosting events to providing creative play opportunities for children, the park caters to diverse needs.

A highlight of the project was our close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the park met community expectations. We delivered a range of features, including a car park, public toilet, shelter, two basketball courts, and a playground, all built to exceptional standards.

In addition, we enhanced the car park and noise wall with a stunning custom mural painted by an on-site artist, adding a touch of creativity and vibrancy to the space.
