Athletics track renewal for local athletics to train and compete

BildGroup’s sports fields and surfaces team had the opportunity to work with our client on an exciting project at Hensley Reserve in NSW. We were tasked with the reconstruction and renewal of the existing athletic track surface, aiming to boost its performance, safety, and quality to meet the increasing demand in the area.

The project involved uplifting the existing running track surface, remediation works on the asphalt pavement, and the installation of a new polyurethane rubberised surface, using Beynon’s sandwich system. It was a detailed job, but our expert team was up for the challenge! We demolished and laid down 3,714 square metres of new synthetic sandwich pavement, ensuring a top-quality surface for athletes. Additionally, we installed 1,366 square metres of provisional synthetic pavement to further enhance the track.

With a budget of $557,000, we were very happy to hand over the project to the council on time in June 2020. Throughout the project, we worked harmoniously with the client, ensuring their needs and expectations were met. This project has significantly enhanced the area’s sports infrastructure, creating fantastic new opportunities for local athletes to train and compete. We are thrilled to have been part of such a meaningful upgrade for the community and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have.
