Courtyard upgrade creates new space for students

BildGroup’s landscape team had the privilege of working with Methodist Ladies College and TCL to upgrade the courtyard at the heart of the school in Kew. This courtyard isn’t just a space; it’s a vital part of the school culture and community, where students gather for outdoor learning, socialising, and unwinding.

From the moment we embarked on this project, we knew it was a chance to showcase our technical abilities, including creating a stunning honed concrete wall as a focal point in the courtyard. Additionally, we laid custom bluestone pavers into the footpath, adding a touch of elegance and durability to the space. Our team also meticulously designed and maintained bespoke plantings to enhance the ambiance of the courtyard.

The result? A western courtyard that radiates calmness and inspiration, providing students with a welcoming environment to collaborate, relax, and recharge during their often stressful secondary school years. It’s a place where friendships can be formed, ideas shared, and memories can be made.

Working on this project was an opportunity to contribute to the educational experience of the students at Methodist Ladies College. We’re proud to have played a part in creating a space that fosters growth, creativity, and connection, and we look forward to seeing how it continues to enrich the school community for years to come.
