Midland Highway Patching

Midland Highway Patching

Flood recovery

BildGroup’s Bitu-mill team collaborated with our civil infrastructure team on this vital initiative: the recovery of the Midland Highway in Meredith following a flood. Our team took great pride in ensuring that our work met VicRoads standards and provided a safe environment for all road users.

Our involvement in the project encompassed various tasks, including site inspections, road profiling, and supplying and laying asphalt. We tackled the challenge of patching up over 2 kilometres of road, covering an area of 9,500 square metres. This involved supplying and laying approximately 3,500 tonnes of asphalt, excavating old pavements, and rebuilding to VicRoads standards.

Throughout the project, we remained committed to minimising environmental impact, ensuring that our work did not adversely affect the surrounding ecosystem. Additionally, our team demonstrated the ability to manage work around earth drains and gas lines, further enhancing the safety and efficiency of the project.

By completing the work ahead of the rapid deterioration of the pavement, we contributed to the recovery of the Midland Highway, ensuring that the local community could benefit from improved road conditions sooner rather than later. This project underscores our dedication to quality, safety, and timely delivery, benefiting all road users and the wider community.
