Pavement preservation to extend road life

Mitchell Shire Council engaged BildGroup’s maintenance team to deliver a large scale crack sealing program across Beveridge and Kilmore, two of the municipality’s fastest growing suburbs north of Melbourne. The works formed part of Council’s proactive approach to pavement preservation, helping extend road life, protect underlying infrastructure and delay the need for more disruptive rehabilitation.

Crack sealing was selected as a cost effective, low impact treatment well suited to residential streets. Our crews carried out thorough crack preparation, including cleaning and removal of debris and vegetation, to ensure strong adhesion and long term waterproofing of the pavement and subbase. More than 120 kilometres of cracks were treated across the local road network.

All works were delivered without road closures, with detailed traffic management allowing crews to operate safely in live traffic conditions while maintaining access for residents, businesses and emergency services. By focusing on early intervention and minimal disruption, the program supported safer local roads and helped protect Council’s assets for the benefit of the growing community.
