Opening a safer access

At the top of the hill in Mount Martha, the intersection of Forest Drive and Nepean Highway is a vital access point for locals. With limited visibility and constant traffic, safety was a concern for drivers turning onto the highway. Our civil infrastructure team was engaged to upgrade the intersection, delivering road widenings, a signalised pedestrian crossing, new vehicle pick-up and drop-off areas, footpaths, and improved lane configurations.

The works were carried out with careful traffic management, particularly during busy holiday periods, to keep the community safe and maintain access. Built to VicRoads specifications (R3, F10), the upgrade has improved safety and accessibility for all road users, making daily travel more predictable and secure.

For Mount Martha residents and visitors, the new intersection is a welcome improvement, supporting safer journeys and enhancing the local area’s amenity.
