Track Resurfacing

Bitu-mill took on the challenging task of resurfacing the track at Phillip Island Circuit, showcasing their expertise in profiling. Using the mill and fill overlay method with advanced Leica 3D machine control, they completed a comprehensive upgrade that included the main track, the pit lane, the entrance tunnel, and various track access roads. The project involved the precise profiling of approximately 48,000 square metres of asphalt, achieved through the use of two Wirtgen profilers under the careful supervision of our in-house Surveying team.

This project brought significant benefits to the community. By repurposing the profiled RAP aggregate for trackside Marshall post stands, we demonstrated our commitment to sustainability and resource efficiency. The enhanced track infrastructure supports safer and more exciting motorsport events, attracting enthusiasts and visitors and boosting local tourism and the economy. The improvements ensure that Phillip Island Circuit remains a premier destination for racing, benefiting locals and the broader motorsport community.
