Advanced 3D machine technology helping transform Swanson Dock East

Bitu-mill was chosen to complete the Port Rail Transformation project at Swanson Dock East in the Port of Melbourne. As part of this exciting project, we started the task of milling approximately 30,000 square metres of asphalt at the old Melbourne Wholesale Market site.

Getting the excavation just right was key to our success. We employed advanced 3D Machine Control technology to precisely profile the existing asphalt down to a subgrade depth of 300mm. Additionally, we ensured that all the asphalt we removed was recycled and reused within the project. This not only minimised waste but also showcased our strong commitment to sustainability.

This project did more than just transform a significant part of the port; it also made a positive impact on the community by emphasising environmental responsibility. Our use of cutting-edge technology ensured that the work was carried out efficiently and to the highest standards, making us proud of what we achieved.
