Airbase runway upgrade

Bitu-mill recently completed a significant runway upgrade project at RAAF East Sale, serving as the profiling supply partner. This extensive two-year endeavour involved laying 110,000 tons of asphalt to resurface runways, taxiways, aprons, and airside access roads. The project’s successful execution relied on the skilled use of various equipment, including profilers, bobcats, shuttle buggies, suction sweepers, and trucks.

Beyond the technical achievements, this upgrade has brought considerable benefits to the community. The improved infrastructure enhances the operational efficiency and safety of the airbase, which is crucial for both military and civilian aviation activities. It also supports the local economy by creating jobs and fostering regional development.
