Runway Code E Upgrade

Bitu-mill and their project partner delivered the reconstruction of Runway 12/30 at RAAF Base Williamtown. This included rectifying and resurfacing selected taxiway pavements and widening the taxiway shoulders. The project also involved asphalt resurfacing of Military Apron 2, Military Apron 3, and the Compass Swing area. Working within a strict curfew, our profiling crews, using two Wirtgen profilers, completed the tasks efficiently to minimise disruptions to Defence operations and local access in the Hunter region.

This upgrade brings significant benefits to the community. It enhances the operational capabilities and safety of RAAF Base Williamtown, ensuring it can continue to serve both military and local needs effectively. The improvements support the base’s role in national Defence while benefiting the local economy through job creation and increased infrastructure reliability. The project highlights our dedication to quality and timely delivery, reinforcing the strong connection between the base and the surrounding community.
