BildGroup has proudly partnered with our client since 2018 to transform Wallara Waters from dormant floodplains into a vibrant community. This project, built through large-scale bulk earthworks, is creating a welcoming environment featuring greenfield subdivisions, wetlands, parks, and streetscapes. Our team ensured that the wetlands were developed without altering Merri Creek’s natural flow, showcasing our commitment to environmentally sensitive practices.
Our efficient systems, collaborative approach, and focus on delivery saved significant time and money for all stakeholders. Key aspects of the project included challenging excavations for wetlands in heavy rock conditions, installing sewer, drainage, and water reticulation systems, and constructing new road pavements using deep-lift techniques. We managed all electrical and telecommunications assets, handled groundwater management, and executed large-scale silt remediation through a blending process, which was both time and cost-effective for our client.
Notable achievements at Wallara Waters include importing over 1,000,000 cubic metres of clean fill to date in record time, ensuring project delivery well ahead of schedule. We maintained Merri Creek as a live creek during extensive excavation works, proactively upholding all environmental controls. Consulting with geotechnical engineers, we re-used poor-quality silt material, reducing time and costs. Groundwater management on the floodplains involved substantial pump systems that accelerated the project’s progress. We also installed:
To date, we have contributed over $40 million of valuable civil infrastructure to this ongoing project, which has an end value in excess of $300 million, contributing to the community’s growth and development.
