Whyalla Super School

BildInfrastructure SA was contacted by Sarah Constructions to deliver the civil works package for the new Whyalla Super School Project, a $100 million state-of-the-art secondary school being built in Whyalla to accommodate 1,500 students in years 7 to 12.

The new school in Whyalla Norrie between the UniSA and TAFE campuses, forms an education precinct to provide students with strong links to further study options.

The school will replace Whyalla’s three existing high school campuses – Edward John Eyre High, Whyalla High and Stuart High.

Outcomes

  • Stage one delivered six weeks ahead of program
  • Zancott recruitment provided over 2,000 hours of Indigenous labour
  • Bild Civil sourced engineered fill from Whyalla City Council borrow pit, reducing externally sourced quarry material by some 10,000 tonnes and directly aiding the local community by purchasing locally
